On the eve of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, Prodrive revealed the latest evolution of its acclaimed Racing Simulator at the Bang & Olufsen flagship store in Mayfair. Already considered a sculptural masterpiece and the most beautiful simulator in the world, the 2025 edition pushes boundaries by weaving together British craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and four decades of motorsport expertise.
A Fusion of Art and Engineering
The Racing Simulator was originally conceived by ex-Formula 1 team principal David Richards, Chairman of Prodrive, and designed by legendary automotive stylist Ian Callum. More than a training tool, it has always stood as a conversation piece – a sculptural centrepiece that reflects the personality and passions of its owner. With the latest refinements, Prodrive has elevated both its artistic presence and technical prowess.
“Every precision-engineered detail has been refined, from the carbon-fibre monocoque to the pedal feel,” said Richards at the unveiling. “And of course, it is not just a simulator. Wrapped in Ian Callum’s sculptural design, this is a centrepiece that sparks conversation, as well as a truly immersive experience.”
British Heritage at its Core
This year’s edition celebrates the very best of British ateliers. Connolly, famed for over 140 years of leather craftsmanship across motoring, aviation, and yachting, now offers custom colours, stitching, and even family crests to personalise the cockpit. Vaughtons, with two centuries of heritage in creating automotive insignia, provides bespoke plaques for each commission, ensuring every simulator is unique. Pendennis, the renowned British superyacht builder, has elevated the exterior with 16 layers of steam-formed beech, lacquered to a piano-like finish that encases the floating carbon monocoque.
Complementing these details is Bang & Olufsen’s contribution to the simulator’s sensory immersion. Standard Beoplay HX headphones, upgradeable to H100, and optional Beosound A9 speakers bring the same architectural precision and audio artistry found in the world’s finest homes and studios.
Performance Born from Motorsport
While it stands as an objet d’art, the Prodrive Racing Simulator is a serious performance tool. Drawing on technology honed across Formula 1, Le Mans, and international rallying, Prodrive has engineered an authentic racing experience. A custom pedal box replicates the feel of modern race cars, the driver’s position mirrors professional setups, and a 49-inch curved display ensures immersion at every corner.
Whether it is used to sharpen racecraft before a competition or to entertain guests at home, the simulator taps directly into Prodrive’s four decades of global motorsport success.
Commissioning the Experience
Every simulator is tailored through a concierge service, with installation requiring nothing more than a single power connection. A new Goodwool protective cover joins the accessory line-up, ensuring the piece is as cared for as any collectible car.
