The point of contact is an Aston Martin Valkyrie steering wheel. Each one is built to order, its side and rotary colour configurations open to personalisation. It sits at the center of the AMR-C01-R Hypercar Edition, a new racing simulator born from a partnership between Aston Martin and Curv Racing Simulators.
Launched from Gaydon, the project celebrates the Aston Martin Valkyries competing in this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans. The simulator's production is limited to just 24 examples worldwide, each one hand-built to order in the UK. Its core is a carbon-fibre monocoque, designed to house the machine's technology within what the company calls an elegant, architectural silhouette.
From The Cockpit
The simulator was developed by Darren Turner, the founder of Curv Racing Simulators. His experience as a three-time Le Mans class winner and an Aston Martin high-performance test driver directly informed the design. The seating position, for instance, mirrors that of the actual Aston Martin Valkyrie.
“When we started developing the Hypercar Edition, the focus was on the driving position, steering feel and racing experience,” Turner said. The goal was to create something believable. The simulator pairs a curved 49-inch display with NVIDIA RTX graphics to render the experience.
