Bentayga X Concept as the centrepiece
Bentley Motors used the dramatic setting of the FAT Ice Race to unveil the Bentayga X Concept, a striking proposal focused on taking the Bentayga family further off road than ever before. While the event featured global debuts, dynamic ice driving and curated hospitality experiences, the Bentayga X Concept stood out as the clearest signal of Bentley’s evolving mindset.
Developed to stimulate customer feedback, the concept explores what a more purpose driven Bentayga could become. It complements the existing model range by sharpening focus on off road performance, sitting alongside the speed oriented Bentayga Speed and the comfort led Extended Wheelbase.
Engineering built for extremes
The Bentayga X Concept is based on the Bentayga Speed and retains its 4.0 litre twin turbo V8 producing 650 PS, paired with permanent four wheel drive and an eight speed transmission. Air suspension works together with Bentley Dynamic Ride, ensuring control and composure even when terrain conditions deteriorate.
Significant mechanical changes define the concept’s new stance. Track width is increased by 120 millimetres, while ride height rises by 55 millimetres to enhance suspension travel and ground clearance. These upgrades result in nearly 310 millimetres of ground clearance and a wading depth exceeding 550 millimetres, figures that place the Bentayga X Concept firmly into serious off road territory .
A functional and expressive design
Visually, the Bentayga X Concept communicates purpose rather than excess. Forged single piece 22 inch wheels from Brixton are wrapped in off road tyres, while extended wheel arches emphasise the wider track. Roof mounted storage and four powerful spotlights underline its adventure focused character.
A titanium Akrapovic sports exhaust remains a defining rear feature, joined by twin front towing eyes. In a playful but telling detail, the roof rack carried an electric FAT Karting League go kart during the event, highlighting the vehicle’s added cargo flexibility and connection to the partnership.
Bentley breaks the ice with FAT International
The Bentayga X Concept also marked the beginning of Bentley’s multi year collaboration with FAT International. At FAT Ice Race, Bentley presented an immersive brand experience with more than 250 VIP guests welcomed into a purpose built hospitality space themed around Bentley Broadcast, blending music, design and car culture.
Alongside the concept, Bentley showcased a wide spectrum of its lineup, including the global debuts of the Continental GT S and GTC S, dynamic ice driving from the Bentayga Speed, and heritage inspired appearances from Mulliner continuation models. Yet among all these moments, the Bentayga X Concept remained the clearest expression of future intent, a luxury SUV designed not just to perform everywhere, but to look entirely at home doing so.
