Chopard at Watches & Wonders didn’t reinvent the wheel, they simply polished it to a mirror shine. And in doing so, they reminded us that innovation isn’t always about disruption. Sometimes, it’s about refinement. Two new platinum releases lead the charge this year, both technical marvels wrapped in quiet sophistication: the L.U.C Quattro Mark IV and the Alpine Eagle 41 XP CS Platinum.
Let’s start with the Quattro.
L.U.C Quattro Mark IV:
This is Chopard celebrating 25 years of its Quattro movement with the kind of low-key confidence that comes from knowing exactly what you’re doing. Housed in a newly reshaped 39 mm platinum case, the Quattro Mark IV offers nine days of chronometer-certified precision thanks to its legendary four-barrel configuration. That’s nearly two meters of coiled spring energy, humming beneath a sky-blue frosted dial. The power-reserve indicator has moved to the back, letting the dial breathe, a subtle but effective evolution.
This piece is all about restraint and mastery. The hand-engraved bee between the lugs, the swan’s neck regulator, the Phillips terminal curve, every detail whispers high horology. And with both the COSC and the Poinçon de Genève stamps, it backs up the talk.
Alpine Eagle 41 XP CS Platinum:
Then comes the Alpine Eagle, Chopard’s modern sports-luxury flagship now elevated in 950 platinum. Thinner than ever at just 8 mm, this version debuts a redesigned bracelet and a mesmerizing “Shades of Ice” gradient dial inspired by glacial blues. It’s serene, elegant, and quietly powerful — like a still lake hiding its depth.
Inside beats the ultra-thin L.U.C 96.42-L calibre, with a platinum micro-rotor and Chopard Twin technology delivering 65 hours of power. COSC certified, Poinçon de Genève approved, and water-resistant to 100 meters, this is a sports watch for those who don’t need to flex.
Both watches are deeply Chopard. Timeless, beautifully made, and unapologetically understated. They’re not designed to shock, they’re built to endure.
