The next Xplorer 60 will be used for more than just navigating conventional cruising grounds. Its owner intends to use the vessel to facilitate scientific research in some of the world’s most remote regions, a programme that will run alongside private adventures. The sale was announced by Damen Yachting, with the yacht scheduled for delivery in 2028.
This project becomes the latest addition to the shipyard’s expanding Xplorer range, a line of yachts built for owners seeking to go further and stay longer in less-travelled waters. The sale follows the delivery of another Xplorer 60, AFTER YOU, in August 2025, signaling a continued interest in the platform.
A Specific Mandate
The transaction was handled by TWW Yachts, who represented the owner. According to Alex Heyes of TWW Yachts, the acquisition was driven by a very particular set of requirements. “The Owner brought a clear vision for how the yacht should support his fleet and future programme,” Heyes noted.
This is the second Xplorer acquisition that TWW Yachts has represented for an owner with Damen Yachting. The process involved close work between the owner, his representatives, and the shipyard. The goal was to ensure the final vessel was perfectly suited to its purpose. As Heyes put it, they were able to “align the yacht with that intended use.”
