The world of luxury hospitality is entering an exciting new chapter. From historic European landmarks to contemporary coastal retreats, several remarkable hotels are preparing to welcome guests between late 2026 and early 2027. Each brings its own interpretation of modern luxury, combining architecture, design, culture and exceptional hospitality.
Among the most anticipated openings are Delano's arrival in London, EDITION's first property in Africa, Park Hyatt's new Mexican retreat, The Standard's debut in Portugal and an intimate boutique hotel overlooking Amsterdam's famous canals.
Together, these five destinations offer a glimpse into the future of luxury travel, where thoughtful design, local character and memorable experiences are becoming just as important as the destination itself.

Designed by Archer Humphryes Architects, the hotel will combine understated luxury with the brand's signature approach to culture, design and entertainment.

Beyond its accommodation, guests can look forward to Lana Lusa, a restaurant inspired by Portuguese heritage and Mediterranean living, alongside the return of the legendary Rose Bar. The property will also introduce The Source by Delano wellness concept, a curated art collection and an exclusive members club offering access to experiences across London and beyond.
With its intimate scale and prestigious location, Delano London is positioning itself as one of the capital's most interesting new luxury addresses.

Art will play an equally important role in the experience. Developed in partnership with Southern Guild, the hotel's collection will celebrate contemporary South African creativity, with curated works displayed throughout the property.

The culinary offering will be led by Shale, a restaurant headed by chef Phil Carmichael, who previously worked at Berners Tavern at The London EDITION.
Combining contemporary architecture, local craftsmanship and a strong connection to Cape Town's creative scene, the property promises a distinctive new expression of the EDITION experience.

The property draws inspiration from its natural surroundings, incorporating locally sourced materials, regional craftsmanship and artwork by artists from the Yucatán Peninsula.
Guests will have access to seven restaurants and bars, beachfront swimming pools, a spa garden with hydrotherapy facilities and a selection of watersports and wellness experiences. Exclusive access to El Tinto Golf Course adds another dimension to the resort's offering.

With residential style accommodation and dedicated Resort Ambassadors, Park Hyatt Riviera Maya aims to combine the freedom of an all inclusive escape with the individual attention traditionally associated with the brand.
The Standard Lisbon, Portugal
Opening: First Quarter 2027
The Standard is bringing its unmistakable approach to hospitality to Portugal, transforming the historic Palácio Santa Clara in Lisbon's atmospheric Alfama neighborhood.

Overlooking the Tagus River, the new property will feature 170 rooms alongside 24 apartment style suites housed in a separate building.
The interiors, developed by celebrated designer Jaime Hayon in collaboration with Verena Haller and The Lifestyle Group's Hyatt Design Team, will introduce a playful contemporary aesthetic within the historic surroundings.

Dining and nightlife will be central to the experience. The hotel will feature Um Dois Três, an all day restaurant and social destination, alongside the street facing Café Ladra and a rooftop bar offering panoramic views across Lisbon.
An extensive spa with four temperature controlled pools, a sauna and steam room will provide a quieter contrast to the hotel's social spaces, while an outdoor swimming pool will overlook the waterfront.

With its combination of heritage architecture, bold interiors and cultural programming, The Standard Lisbon looks set to become a new gathering place for both international travelers and the city's creative community.
The Zetter 717 Amsterdam, Netherlands
Opening: First Quarter 2027
For travelers who prefer intimacy over scale, The Zetter 717 Amsterdam offers a different interpretation of five star hospitality.

Located within a historic canal house on Prinsengracht, in Amsterdam's UNESCO listed Canal District, the boutique property will feature just 24 bedrooms.
Originally constructed in 1810 in the Empire style, with elements dating back to the Dutch Golden Age, the building has been reimagined by award winning designer James Thurstan Waterworth.
The interiors will celebrate the building's architectural heritage through a carefully layered selection of antique mirrors, reclaimed timber, aged brass and richly textured fabrics.

Two intimate public spaces will form the heart of the hotel. The Garden Room will offer breakfast in a botanical setting overlooking a private garden, while The Library will provide a relaxed environment for drinks and small plates, surrounded by books, warm colors and carefully selected furnishings.
Rather than pursuing grand statements, The Zetter 717 Amsterdam embraces the charm of residential living, creating a luxury experience that feels personal, considered and deeply connected to its surroundings.
As luxury hospitality continues to evolve, these five openings illustrate the growing importance of individuality. Whether through architectural heritage, contemporary art, exceptional dining or a stronger connection to local culture, each property offers its own interpretation of what makes a hotel worth traveling for.
For those already planning their next escape, the coming year promises an exceptional selection of new destinations.
