Walking along Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, you pass some of the most storied names in luxury. This autumn, the street welcomed back an old friend. Glashütte Original has opened its new Paris boutique, returning to the 8th arrondissement after nearly ten years away. For the Saxon manufacture, it is both a homecoming and a statement, reaffirming its place in one of watchmaking’s historic capitals.

The boutique is called L’Écrin, French for “jewellery box,” and the name is well chosen. At just 12 square meters, the space has been crafted with care and precision. Dark moor oak, Patagonia granite, taupe fabrics, and soft eucalyptus tones create a calm and inviting atmosphere. Overhead, a ceiling design references the Calibre 37 chronograph, while a dedicated cabinet of curiosities gives pride of place to rare and limited editions. Guests enter through a door fitted with a swan-neck handle, a discreet tribute to one of the brand’s signature details.

Inside, the experience is personal. Seating, presentation cases, and even a small bar are woven into the compact interior. The Paris team trained at the manufactory in Saxony, ensuring that visitors are met with both hospitality and expertise. This location now joins seventeen other Glashütte Original boutiques around the world, from Dresden to Shanghai.

For collectors, the boutique offers the chance to see the latest novelties firsthand. Among them is the new Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date, which we had the opportunity to review during the summer. You can revisit that piece here.
