Hennessy Crafts Its First Ready-to-Serve Cocktails

Henny-Rita, Henny Berry, and Henny Iced Tea. These are the names of the first ready-to-serve cocktails to ever carry the Hennessy name. After more than 260 years, the Maison is opening a new chapter by launching Hennessy Very Special Cocktails, a collection that marks the first time its cognac has been combined with other ingredients in a pre-mixed format.

The new range is built around the brand’s Hennessy Very Special cognac and is being introduced exclusively in the United States starting this July. The move places the historic cognac house directly into one of the fastest-growing segments of the American spirits market, where ready-to-drink options continue to gain momentum with consumers.

    A Nod to History

For Charles Delapalme, the President and CEO of LVMH-owned Hennessy, this innovation is also rooted in the Maison’s past. He notes that long before Prohibition, cognac was a central component in many cocktail recipes that would go on to become classics. This modern launch is viewed as a natural extension of that longstanding tradition.

    The Hennessy Blender's Touch

The collection was developed by Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the Maison's eighth-generation Master Blender. His task was to create a ready-to-enjoy experience that preserved the balance, character, and aromatic richness of the cognac at its heart. The involvement of the Master Blender signals a commitment to craftsmanship within the new category.

Each of the three expressions offers a distinct profile. The Henny-Rita is inspired by the Margarita. The Henny Berry is a blend of blackcurrant and blackberry with Mojito-like mint notes. The Henny Iced Tea combines the flavors of orange and black tea with what are described as pastry-like notes.

With this launch, Hennessy aims to explore new ways of enjoying cognac, bringing its heritage to new audiences and different occasions. The brand states that by connecting its history of craftsmanship with evolving consumer habits, it is reaffirming the pioneering spirit that has guided its development since its founding.
