The summer program at the Mercedes-Benz Museum begins with Miranda Priestly. On August 21, the Open Air Kino series will screen “Der Teufel trägt Prada 2” against the building's unique architecture. The film features a Mercedes-Maybach S-Klasse as the limousine for Meryl Streep’s character, a placement supported by the brand’s “The Art of Arrival” campaign. It is the first of 15 film nights that will run through September 6, with ticket pre-sales having started on June 8.
The cinema series is part of a broader cultural calendar for Mercedes. The “Stadtkultur am Mercedes-Benz Museum” program returns from July 10 to August 9, turning the space over to artists from Stuttgart and the surrounding region. The schedule includes everything from music and spoken word to club nights. Demand has been high, with four dates, including the “Mamagehttanzen Sommer Special” and all three “Old School Vibes” events, already sold out.
A Focus on Family and Heritage
On July 5, the museum will host a Family Day from 11 am to 6 pm. The event is free and features creative and sports activities for children, with partners including the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Forscherfabrik Schorndorf, and Strotmanns Magic Lounge. This day also connects to a new special exhibition, “130 Jahre Nutzfahrzeuge,” which opens on June 28 in the Collection 5 room. To mark the anniversary, the museum will offer ride-alongs in historical vans and trucks.
The celebration of the brand’s history continues every Sunday until October with Classics & Coffee. The weekly gathering invites owners of classic automobiles to meet in the museum’s outdoor area starting at 9 am. On June 28, the event will have a special focus on commercial vehicles to complement the new exhibition.
