Morgan has spent over a century building cars by hand at Pickersleigh Road in Malvern, Worcestershire. Since 1909, the factory floor has operated on a steady rhythm of wood shaping, panel beating, and hand assembly. Now the company is introducing Bespoke as Standard, a dedicated program that gives fifty buyers direct access to the factory design team before assembly begins.

The initiative runs through the end of 2026. Under the arrangement, customers choose their colors, leathers, and trims through an authorized dealer, then submit that specification directly to the factory design studio. Chief design officer Jonathan Wells and his team review each submission, helping refine color, material, and finish before officially signing off on production.

Buyers who want a closer dialogue can work directly with the designers rather than keeping communication strictly within the dealership. Managing director Matthew Hole points to limited runs like the Midsummer Coupe as the foundation for this method. That project proved how personal collaboration between stylists and clients can shape an entire vehicle build.

The Factory Floor at Malvern
Morgan has long permitted a loose degree of tailoring, yet this structure codifies what was once informal. The program eliminates surcharges on solid, metallic, and paint-to-sample finishes. Standard palette leather interiors, carpets, and convertible hood choices are also bundled into the base configuration at no extra expense.

Assembly workers on the factory floor will also participate in the personal documentation of each vehicle. Participating clients can request the Malvern craftspeople to sign the underside of the car bonnet during production. Each finished sports car receives a dedicated build plaque signed by Hole alongside a bound photographic book capturing its assembly steps.

Eligibility varies depending on geographic market. Buyers in the United Kingdom, Europe, and select international territories can order the Plus Four, Supersport, or Supersport 400 through the program. United States buyers participate exclusively through the Plus Four model range.

Morgan Expands Small-Batch Production
The program arrives alongside a broader commercial push for the Malvern firm. Morgan recently opened retail operations in Qatar, widening its footprint in the Middle East. Meanwhile, the original Midsummer barchetta reached the end of its planned fifty-car run, leaving room for the newer nine-car Midsummer Coupe series that followed the June prototype.

Taking design cues from custom coachbuilding and applying them to fifty standard production slots alters how collectors perceive ownership. The fifty allocated builds are scheduled for customer handover in spring 2027, with retail orders closing at the conclusion of 2026.
