British luxury yacht builder Oyster Yachts has unveiled the Oyster P60, marking a significant new chapter in the company's more than 50 years of maritime heritage. Known for its world class sailing yachts, Oyster is now bringing its expertise in long distance exploration and exceptional craftsmanship into the world of motor powered catamarans.
Developed in collaboration with renowned naval architecture studio Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design, the P60 combines the stability and spaciousness of a multihull with the endurance of a true ocean explorer. Measuring 19.42 metres in length and 9.35 metres in width, the yacht has been designed for owners who want to travel further without compromising on comfort or luxury.
Designed to Cross Oceans
One of the Oyster P60's most impressive features is its remarkable cruising range. With a fuel capacity of 6,000 litres and two 300 horsepower engines, the yacht is designed to achieve up to 3,500 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 8 knots.
This extraordinary capability would allow the P60 to complete the longest passage of the Oyster World Rally, travelling approximately 3,000 nautical miles from the Galápagos Islands to the Marquesas Islands without refuelling.
For those seeking faster journeys, the yacht offers a cruising speed of 8 to 12 knots, with a projected maximum speed of 19 knots. At 12 knots, the estimated range remains an impressive 1,000 nautical miles.
The P60's efficient twin hull design, elevated bridgedeck clearance and substantial fuel reserves have all been developed with extended offshore cruising in mind. Optional solar panels and a large lithium battery system further enhance onboard independence, reducing reliance on generators while anchored.
A Floating Residence Designed for Comfort
Beyond its impressive technical capabilities, the Oyster P60 places considerable emphasis on lifestyle and comfort.
The yacht offers approximately 121 square metres of social living space, creating an environment that feels closer to a luxurious waterfront residence than a conventional 60 foot yacht.
The 33 square metre flybridge serves as an elevated entertainment area, featuring a central helm station, bar, comfortable lounge seating and a raised daybed overlooking the ocean.
At the stern, a generous 40 square metre cockpit provides a versatile outdoor environment that can transition between an elegant dining area, a relaxation space and a practical setting for fishing or watersports. A hydraulic tender platform can also be lowered to create direct access to the surrounding water.
Inside, the panoramic saloon features expansive glazing, carefully selected materials and beautifully crafted furniture. The open layout connects the interior with both the forward and aft outdoor spaces, creating a seamless relationship between indoor luxury and life at sea.
The owner's suite measures approximately 18 square metres and features private access to the aft deck. Depending on the selected configuration, the yacht can accommodate two or three additional guest cabins, alongside dedicated crew accommodation.
Owners can also choose between different galley arrangements, allowing the interior to be tailored to their preferred cruising lifestyle.
