Pagani Debuts the Huayra 70 Derecho at Goodwood

Under direct sunlight, the main body of the car reveals warm golden reflections. The exclusive Pearl Orange paint invites a closer observation of the intricate Pagani fish-bone carbon fiber weave underneath. This is the Pagani Huayra 70 Derecho, a new few-off creation from the brand's Grandi Complicazioni division.

The car made its world premiere at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is the second of three Huayra 70 models made to celebrate the 70th birthday of founder Horacio Pagani. At the event, the Derecho was displayed at the new Pagani stand alongside a Pagani Zonda F Roadster and a Pagani Utopia Roadster. Other models, including the Huayra Codalunga Speedster and a track-focused Huayra R with the Tempesta package, took to the legendary hill climb.

The name itself, Derecho, recalls a rare and powerful atmospheric phenomenon. It describes an organized storm system that generates straight-line winds of extraordinary intensity. Pagani uses the reference to synthesize the car's essence: a force that advances with continuity and precision.

An Exterior Defined by Color and Material

The bespoke project’s livery is a careful balance of Pearl Orange and Blue. The deep, transparent Inky Blue covers the lower sections and the interior monocoque, creating a perception of lightness. The main body is defined by the Pearl Orange.

Solid-milled aluminum components are integrated into the bodywork, anodized in Glossy Titanium to act as precious details. This same finish is mirrored in the custom brand new Huayra 70 Titanium wheels, maintaining a delicate balance between sportiness and formal purity.

    A Coherent Interior Space

Inside, the artisanal work continues with Ceramic White leather combined with Tricolore Blue leather. The two are united with sartorial precision using bespoke contrast stitching. A chromatic dialogue is maintained between the exterior and interior through targeted cues. The 12 o’clock stripe on the steering wheel and the gear knob are both painted in Pearl Orange, weaving a continuous thread through the vehicle.

Lorenzo Kerkoc, Head of Grandi Complicazioni, explains the thinking. “The configuration of this car stems from the encounter between aesthetic research and material innovation. Every design choice, from the materials to the finishes, has been studied to express an authentic synthesis of sportiness and elegance.”

Horacio Pagani connects this work to a larger philosophy. “When work is guided by curiosity, passion, and a sense of beauty, the desire to constantly improve arises naturally,” he commented. “Our daily commitment is to dedicate the utmost attention to every single detail, striving to approach that essential harmony between form and function, intellect and craftsmanship, just as Leonardo da Vinci taught us.”

For Pagani, presenting the car at Goodwood is a privilege. It is, he says, “an opportunity to share the fruits of this labor with those who share our same profound love for the automobile.”
