Range Rover pairs a 1993 Classic with the new SV Ultra for Monterey

Range Rover finished a 1993 Classic in Titan Silver, the liquid‑metal shade introduced on the new SV Ultra. The paint mixes fine aluminium flake with advanced pigment technology to create a bright, iridescent surface.

The Classic forms one half of a matched pair with a Range Rover SV Ultra. The duo will debut during Monterey Car Week, then cross the block at RM Sotheby’s The Monterey Auction on Friday 14 August. Preview opens at the Monterey Conference Center from 10.00am on 12 to 14 August.

Exterior details aligned to SV Ultra

The 1993 Classic rides on 16‑inch three‑spoke wheels in Satin Platinum Atlas with diamond‑turned contrast rims. A new Range Rover SV Ultra bonnet script and the deletion of exterior side trim give the body cleaner surfaces. Under the bonnet, a plaque notes its provenance as the first bespoke matched pair commission.

At the Monterey preview, the first Range Rover SV Ultra built for the US market will sit alongside the Classic created in its image, presenting two generations shaped around the same idea.

Inside the Classic, new materials in a familiar shape

The cabin introduces Ultrafabrics to a Range Rover Classic for the first time, finished in a duo‑tone Orchid White and Cinder Grey scheme to mirror SV Ultra. The dashboard is upholstered in Cinder Grey with colour‑matched vents, and the steering wheel follows the same light‑over‑dark treatment.

Seat uppers carry the laser‑crafted pattern and intricate mosaic perforation that debuted on SV Ultra, repeated across inserts and backrests. Door cards are reworked with brushed aluminium handles, colour‑matched speaker covers and coordinated finishers.

2,000 hours and a complete mechanical rebuild

The project began with a US‑market County Edition. It retains its 3.9‑litre V8 paired with a four‑speed automatic gearbox. A team of specialists spent 2,000 hours across fabrication, paint, trim and final assembly to return the vehicle to form.

Mechanical authenticity guided the process. The engine, transmission, suspension, steering and brakes were comprehensively rebuilt. The Classic Works team restored and refined each element to preserve the original character while improving reliability and overall refinement.

    Monterey schedule and sale

The matched pair makes its public debut during Monterey Car Week. RM Sotheby’s will show the vehicles at the Monterey Conference Center from 10.00am on 12 to 14 August, with access for registered bidders and guests and public preview tickets available to purchase. The live auction begins at 5.30pm on 14 August.

Revealed in Gaydon, UK on 20 July 2026 by Land Rover, the commission doubles as a live catalogue for the Classic division’s personalisation program. Options span custom embroidery and scripting, a range of leathers and sustainable non‑leather materials, and a Match to Sample service that can reproduce virtually any exterior colour. Clients can shape their own specification alongside in‑house design experts.

“This Range Rover SV Ultra matched pair shows how it is possible to create a truly individualised Range Rover with our bespoke service, whether it’s a custom colour palette, interior trim or personalised details. Range Rover SV Ultra is the pinnacle of tailored distinction, and this commission is a reflection of how our process can elevate any generation of Range Rover while maintaining its essence.”
