The New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Goes Deeper On Detail

The New Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Goes Deeper On Detail

For the first time, the interior of a Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can be specified entirely without leather. The new vegan option uses a textile called Mirville, a material made from linen and recycled polyester. It is part of what the brand calls the most comprehensive update ever for its flagship model.

The cabin refit includes new types of wood, improved ambient lighting, and a redesigned center console. These changes are intended to amplify the relaxed atmosphere that has become a Maybach signature.

Outside, the car is identified by a larger Maybach grille, new light signatures, and additional illuminated details. The frame surrounding the grille now lights up, as does the Maybach emblem itself.

The powertrains have also been updated. All six and eight-cylinder engines are now electrified with 48-volt technology. In Europe, the top model will be a new V8 that produces 612 horsepower, with an additional 23 horsepower provided by the integrated hybrid system. The plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Maybach S 580 e receives an updated six-cylinder engine and has an electric-only range of approximately 100 kilometers.

A Ride That Reads The Road

The car’s AIRMATIC suspension now uses Car-to-X data, pulling information from other Mercedes-Benz vehicles on the road ahead. This system allows the car to anticipate surface imperfections and adjust the damping before it reaches them, creating a smoother and quieter journey.

This is also the first Maybach to feature the Mercedes-Benz Operating System, or MB.OS. It brings a new generation of the MBUX interface with Maybach-specific graphics, an AI-based voice assistant, and the ability to receive wireless updates over time.

    Historic Colors, Modern Choices

The possibilities for personalization have expanded significantly. The MANUFAKTUR program now offers over 150 exterior colors and more than 400 color combinations for the interior, alongside a large selection of woods, leathers, and textiles.

A further development, MANUFAKTUR Made to Measure, opens up even more options. Customers can now access hundreds of historic paint colors from the Mercedes-Benz and Maybach archives, or combine materials and stitching to their own specifications.

To help navigate these choices, a new digital Visualiser function allows a client to see the finished car, in its exact configuration, before production begins.
