For 100 years, the Rolls-Royce Phantom has stood as the ultimate symbol of achievement – a motor car synonymous with influence, artistry, and the pursuit of perfection. To mark this historic milestone, Rolls-Royce presents the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, a breathtaking tribute limited to just 25 examples worldwide.
A Monument to Legacy
The Phantom Centenary Private Collection is more than a commemoration, it is a statement of what Rolls-Royce represents after a century at the pinnacle of luxury motoring. Each of the 25 hand-built cars tells the story of Phantom’s evolution, from its origins in the 1920s to its enduring role as the ultimate symbol of success.
The Bespoke Collective at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood – a team of designers, engineers, and artisans, immersed themselves in Phantom’s world, uncovering the figures, journeys, and moments that shaped its legend. Their research produced 77 hand-sketched motifs, each capturing a defining chapter in Phantom’s history, expressed through innovative craftsmanship that pushes the boundaries of what is possible in automotive design.
From 3D marquetry and ink layering to 24-carat gold detailing, every surface of the Phantom Centenary is alive with symbolism and artisanal mastery. The Spirit of Ecstasy, cast in solid gold and hallmarked in London, crowns the grille as both muse and monument – a physical link to the very first Phantom of 1925.
Inside the Legend
Step inside, and the Centenary reveals itself as a gallery of motion, a place where fashion, heritage, and engineering coexist in sublime harmony. The rear seats, inspired by the 1926 “Phantom of Love”, feature a custom fabric developed with a couture atelier. Across 45 individual panels and over 160,000 stitches, Phantom’s century-long story unfolds in layers of high-resolution print and embroidery, rendered with the precision of a master tailor.
The front seats pay homage to the craft of the draftsman, laser-etched with sketches inspired by Phantom’s journey, from early prototypes to the rebirth of the marque in the 21st century. In the doors, intricate Blackwood veneers tell stories of the landscapes tied to Henry Royce himself, their golden routes marking the roads that built the brand’s legend.
At the centre of it all sits the Anthology Gallery, a sculptural composition of brushed aluminium fins, each one engraved with text from a century of acclaim – a tangible book of Phantom’s legacy, forever in motion.
A Golden Future
Every detail of the Phantom Centenary Private Collection speaks of reverence – not only for the past, but for the artistry that continues to define Rolls-Royce today. From the 24-carat gold detailing of its 6.75-litre V12 engine to the 440,000 embroidered stars in its bespoke Starlight Headliner, each car is a constellation of time, memory, and mastery.
The result is not merely an automobile, but an heirloom: a testament to 100 years of Rolls-Royce’s unrelenting pursuit of perfection.
With the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, history doesn’t just live – it glides, in silence, into the next century.
